This book is True Crime about an untold story about a serial killer targeting gay men in 80’s/early 90’s. It was factual in nature as true crime is but unique as it brought light to the victims prior to their murder. These were real people with family, & friends. They had their faults but they were mostly good people just living life some sadly in the closet. It dove into the AIDS epidemic and how police handled the gay scene. There was no protection for the gay community as the police were also against them and would often raid parties/bars to arrest queer people.
We also got a glimpse into the killers life and how the system failed all of his future victims.
I would certainly watch this documentary and/or movie/series. I enjoyed learning about these crimes but there were some graphic descriptions of bodies that I had to skim over. I’m not sure why it’s harder for me to read about it then it is for someone to explain it on TV. Rest In Peace to the many victims known and unknown.
