The Last Call Killer has been mostly lost to history - until Elon Green took the opportunity to write this book. During the 1980s and 1990s, this killer preyed on gay men in and around New York City. Due to the stigma surrounding homosexuality and the AIDS epidemic, these killings are not often discussed today.

I liked that this book was a mixture of true crime and pop culture/history. While Green gives plenty of information about the killings, he also does a great job bringing the reader inside the gay community of NYC. I enjoyed the interviews with various individuals and the perspectives they brought. I'm glad that members of the community refused to let the police ignore these crimes.

The only negative about this book is the pacing - there was a lot of detail discussing each individual case, so the cases felt a little disjointed and I had trouble keeping my reading momentum. But if you're a true crime fan, especially of podcasts, you might want to give this one a try.
