Like many others, before receiving this book I had not heard of the crimes told within these pages. I think the true crime genre is certainly moving outside of it's core audience and we are starting to see popularity for stories like this. The author did very well with the research done for the Last Caller Killer in NY. The format of the story brought you through the investigation as well as how the timeline was brought to light. Since the victims were part of the LGBTQ community, it seemed at least at the time the horrific crimes did not make the spotlight as to not bring light on this as well. Thankfully we are past a time like that. One of my favorite parts of the book were the maps within the chapters, allowing you to visually see where the crimes took place and where the killer was moving throughout his spree. I highly recommend to anyone interested in true crime.
