I am an avid true crime reader and this was a new story for me. This book was very well researched and presented in an engaging and interesting manner. I found the writing in this book to be very descriptive, but not over the top in the graphic descriptions of the crime. One thing that I loved about this book was that it chose to focus on the victims of the Last Call Killer rather than the killer himself. Throughout the pages of this book you get to learn about who the victims were rather than simply what happened to them. This book also gave great insight into how the gay community was viewed when this killer was active. The first eighty percent of this book focuses on the previously mentioned victims of the killer. The last piece of the book not only goes into the killer but also the police work that eventually led to his capture. The fact that the killer wasn't caught until many years later was very wild to me, but it was interesting to read about the fingerprinting methods that investigators used that ultimately uncovered the identity of the killer. Highly recommend to true crime fans.
