Oh how I wanted to love this book. It has all the components of my kind of book...murder, serial killers, New York, the LGBTQIA+ community. But, alas, I found myself unable to truly enjoy it. Every time I arrived at a section that started to intrigue me, the story would start to wander away from the core thread that peeked my initial interest. While I can tell this was incredibly well researched, I felt as if I was reading an essay where the writer had a specific word count they HAD to achieve in order to accomplish the assigned prompt.

Is this the next must read true crime novel? In my opinion, no but would I still give it a read to learn more about the Last Call Killer? Yes.
