Land of Big Numbers is a short story collection that touches on different aspects of Chinese culture and history. In the first story, we follow a twin brother and sister. In their childhood, the sister is the golden star of the family, getting great grades, always reading, and gets into a great college. The brother is some-what of a disappointment to the family, always playing video games and going to a local college. As they grow, the sister becomes active in online activism and ends up spending much of her young adult life in prison while the brother ends up becoming a head hotel chef and a pro-video gamer. The juxtaposition of their youth to adulthood was quite interesting. I am interested to see what the other stories hold!
