This story about Lulu told from the perspective of her twin brother had my attention from the beginning. I loved the way the author seamlessly wove in details about China with the plot. The twins’ stories follow surprising arcs, one twin who is doted on from the start and the other who the parents have no expectations. This first story made a great impression, and I’m very curious to read more.
