Although this did certainly catch my interest initially, I felt like it slowed a little bit in the middle of that excerpt. I feel like I’m not really a fan of short stories so although they did catch my interest at the beginning I may be not as interested in them in the end. I do like reading about Chinese culture, so it may be something that in the end grabs me. Generally, reading and learning about new cultures, especially when traveling is out of the question (like in COVID times) reading a book like this would allow me to “travel” from the safety of my own home.
