This first look gives us one full short story from this collection. It has such descriptive writing, I felt like I was in the scene, with metaphors and similes that jump off the page. I loved the depiction of the twin siblings' relationship, told from the brother's point of view, even though you could argue that the sister's life was more eventful and interesting. Sibling relationships are hard to capture at all, let alone in a short story, so I really loved the beautiful depiction of the unique combination of pride and worry that they have for each other. This first story is so captivating, I really want to read the others!
