This is my first time reading a first look of a short story collection. I really enjoyed the story that it opened with. In particular I enjoyed the writing and the characterization of the different members of the family in the story 'Lulu'. It is interesting to review as a first impression because, as it is short stories, it is more difficult to know whether or not this will apply to the rest of the book than you might expect with a novel. But I really enjoyed this author's writing so I suspect that if you are a fan of short stories you would enjoy this collection.
