This book had a range of things that I liked from the style to the characters to the world building.

The story started with Arien, who had really matured and developed though out this story, and his problem with the shadows. Leta was a great big sister as well. She just wanted what was best for her brother. They ended up meeting this guy who seems really awful and that would probably kill them both if he had the chance (being a reader, he definitely wouldn’t). They all went though trying to get rid of the shadows to figuring out feelings. I was shocked at the ending though. It was a really brave move on Leta’s part and I was actually kind of proud.

The story had really well done world building and the idea of the shadows is really fascinating for some reason. The characters were actually really well done. And Rowan is just…chefs kiss! He’s a really interesting character. The plot was well done too, but I felt like the pacing was a bit weird

Overall this a really good book. I got a bit lost on a few parts, but the author did really well on this book.
