I think this book was really good! Its not completely romance which is the main reason i had picked it up but it has a dark and mysterious vibe which makes the book so good. It was a bit weird and scary when everyone found out that Rowan killed his own family but it definitely added to the story. Violeta and her brother also have/ had some magic but a cruel women who "looked after them" tried to basically kill their magic, At one point Violeta admits to giving up her magic to save her brothers life. Now her brother is the only one with magic and Rowan has a dark curse that he believes will be and can be stopped with Arien's magic (Violeta's brother).After Violeta and Rowan start to connect with each other they develop feelings. which was okay, however it's very clear to tell that the books main focus was NOT on the characters romantic relationship. Overall the book was good but i wouldn't put it in the romance genre.
