I was delightfully impressed with this book. It is poetic and dark. It's everything it promised to be. I think I liked it because it reminded me of Persephone and Hades. I love Greek mythology. It took a second to get I to the book, and it did feel like the romance portion was a bit rushed. I would have liked it to be more drawn out to get more character development, but the story was intriguing enough to overlook that aspect. While the writing was exceptional, it may have been better told in third person. Due to Violettas own admission of not being very learned, she as the narrator knew a lot of fancy words. Again. Beautiful writing. Just not believable coming from Violeta. I'm excited for Book two. I believe the writing will only improve and since the story is unique, I look forward to what Violetta can do to escape Lord Under. Or maybe she doesn't....
