I could hardly put this book down to remember to do basic life necessities, like sleep or eat! It was so good and I immediately bought the second book and recommended this duology to all my friends. I was a little worried about how the author would pull off making the "monstrous" boy into a human worthy of the protagonist's love, but this author exceeded my expectations! It is an excellent enemies-to-lovers romance with so much standing in between their love. I also loved seeing my own tendency to put my family above my own self and how that affects her family. It was certainly a book that left me reflecting long after I finished reading! I also really love the Lord Under and cannot wait to see more of the Underworld explored in the second book. Maybe it is just because I love a good morally questionable character, but I found myself just as intrigued by the Lord Under as the protagonist.
