I was entranced with this book within the first few chapters and I stayed enthralled up into the very end. It was dark and mysterious and contained a hauntingly alluring pull throughout. I loved the relationship between Leta and her brother and how her story unfolds and her unique connection to the Lord Under. Everyone within the manor is out to prove something, make up for past choices, and we get to see it all unfold. It is heartbreaking & emotional while being wrapped up in the shadows of horror and darkness. The setting of the story within a small rural town & their eventual move to the dark & foreboding mansion that seems to be hiding dark secrets is perfect for the story and I could see myself walking through those hallways...and exploring that locked away hidden garden. This is definitely a book that makes you makes you question why you feel a strange attraction to the "bad" guy. I can't wait to read the next book from this author.
