Am I the only one that much prefers the Lord Under instead of Rowan?
I was really looking forward to this book after I read an excerpt especially when it said Gothic fantasy. When I first started reading this book it was actually kinda hard for me to keep my attention on it. So it was a slow start for me but after a certain point I couldn't get enough of it. I loved how atmospheric this was and all the imagery in the writing was really beautiful. I found the writing strong. All the characters were great as well. They were stubborn and compassionate. I really like when authors create not so perfect characters. What I enjoyed the most about the characters is the back and forth between characters. It was fun to read. Violeta Graceling gets put through a lot and has to make choices to protect the ones she loves and cares about. She honestly doesn't catch a break in this story. I really enjoyed this dark fairytale and I'm looking forward to the sequel. I think if you like goth, curses, magic, and God's you will probably enjoy this book plus it has a beautiful cover.
