Hmm there seems to be a lot going on in this story. The mood seems to be gothic almost horror and there are monsters or shadows terrorizing a pair of siblings. That could have possibly killed their parents? Their new “adoptive” mother seems a little crazy I hope the story provides more background on the shadows and the owner of the land because the sneak peek was a little confusing.
