OH I AM SO EXCITED BY THIS! Boy bands have always been my guilty pleasure (so much so that I am currently running a boybands and books series on my Instagram). So.. a book with the exact setting of my dreams and a gay main character with brown (ALSO GAY!!) love interest?? YEAH.. I am so excited.
The mixed-media approach of this book is so creatively done and definitely engages with the reader - I love finding little added details at the end of the news articles and storing them away to fit in just perfectly later on in the chapter. The first person and honestly likable character of Hunter is just the cherry on top - I am no white cis queer boy but I feel at home.
Additionally, seeing Hunter openly acknowledge his privilege when he is painted as a queer icon in the book is so refreshing - this book will definitely be something I am going to be picking up.
