I do read some YA (New Adult?) depending on subject matter but this reads like young teen to me. In fairness to the novel I'm Far from teen years lol. I didn't care for the writing, not sure if it's due to first person present pov or it just reads very basic & simplistic. I'd imagine there's many others who'll connect with this much better than I did.
