Madhuri’s family has a love curse where the first person Madhuri dates will be her forever. It’s happened to every generation in Madhuri’s family and she is determined to break it.
She decides she will date her best friend, Arjun, to break this curse and will called it “The Kismat Experiment.”

I really enjoyed reading this book, but more specifically how the Indian culture is now accepted because of yoga and golden milk, but when Madhuri was growing up, it wasn’t accepted by her peers that she had to really Americanize herself to fit in. It is pretty relatable for POC who live in a predominantly white neighborhood. This book also touched upon family dynamics and how each family is different.
