Kismat Connection really started off as the cutest book. The story opens up with the two main characters getting their annual astrology readings and it sets a great tone- funny, sweet, and with a little snark. It has dual POV's which is a huge plus to me. Madhuri is hardheaded and wants to prove her fate wrong, but at what cost? Arjun has been Madhuri’s best friend since they were little and has been in love with her for just as long, but of course she has no clue. In order to defy her fate, Madhuri decides to start a fake relationship with Arjun, which is obviously not the greatest idea.
There were some things I liked about this book and some I didn’t. I enjoyed Arjun and his complete devotion to Madhuri and adored the relationship between him and her family. It felt so genuine, and it was nice to see that the MCs romantic relationship didn’t affect the way that they cared for him. On the other hand, Madhuri was very hard to connect with. I couldn’t grasp why she denied her feelings for Arjun so much. It was also hard for me to see the conflict in the story, as they both liked each other. This fact made the book feel repetitive at times. Overall, Madhuri and Arjun are cute, the entire book is cute, but unfortunately it was never anything more than cute.
