As an Indian myself, I'm always looking to delve into books that capture the Indian experience, whether it be abroad or in our own country, and I think the author beautifully delivers that in her work. In addition to this factor, I really admire the connection of this novel to astrology, as I'm hugely fascinated with the subject, and my deep relation to spirituality has provided me with quite a lot of insight into this area of study, hence I can say with some confidence that the topic is explored with accuracy.
When we talk about characters, it pains me to say I actually kind of hate Madhuri. Sceptics get on my last nerve, but I'm assuming she'll have a growth arc and I'm excited to see how that turns out. Arjun seems too obsessive, but I'm intrigued to see how the two MCs work on and overcome their weaknesses during the course of this book. My favourite characters so far have to be Josie and Kamala Iyer.
The writing style was lucid, without excessively long, unnecessary descriptions and I found it easy to connect with the characters.
All in all, if you want book that gives you the vibes of Never Have I Ever, I'd recommend you pick this one up immediately.
