Cute romance for a little bit of a younger audience. This book did a great job of showing the characters’ Desi culture and their different feelings about it. Arjun is quick to accept his culture and the traditions that come with it, including believing in his star chart. Madhuri takes the opposite approach. She becomes ashamed of her culture and tries to hide from it. Together, both characters learn to love their culture and learn to balance destiny and free will.

The romance was cute and Arjun was very sweet. I was hoping Madhuri would see him as more than a friend. There were a lot of contemporary references that I could’ve done without. The pace also could’ve been a little faster.

Overall, the book did a great job of describing the character’s insecurities and overcoming them. The representation was good and I fell in love with the culture along with the characters.
