I was very excited to read Kismat Connection, as I was looking forward to a story that represented the type of South Asian community that I grew up in. I enjoyed the way that Indian culture was represented in this book, as well as the diasporic portrayal of the main characters. However, I felt as though certain conflicts could have been expanded on in a more effective manner. For example, I would have liked it if Madhuri and Arjun's relationship was explained further, as I felt like it was a little rushed. I also would have liked to know more about the past of both characters, such as Madhuri's experience with racism and Arjun's conflicting feelings about his mother. This would have made the resolutions of these issues a lot more satisfying to me as a reader. Overall, Kismat Connection is a quick enjoyable read for anyone, especially those in the South Asian community.
