I love friends to lovers
I know enemies to lovers is the most well loved something to lovers trope, but I am a sucker for friends to lovers. This book was peak, adorable, and the perfect friends to lovers romance.
I am a sucker, also, for good cultural representation. I think this book did a great job of bringing in elements of Indian culture and making it educational, while not feeling patronizing.
As for the characters, I really enjoyed the two leads, and how they both had a developed backstory. I feel like Madhuri had much more of a backstory, and much more development dedicated to her than her “fake” boyfriend.
I do feel like Arjun got a bit ripped off in the story, as he was full of unrequited love, and it definitely started by him being “used.”
I wish a bit more of the story had been dedicated to his backstory, as it felt kind of rushed, but I enjoyed getting to know the two main leads
