This was the story about Madhuri a Type-A, brilliant student, who doesn't believe in fate, and Arjun her best friend who has had a crush for years with her. Before starting their last school year, they have their astrology cards read, Madhuri is willing to show that destiny dont exist and she proposes to Arjun fake date and breaks up at the end of the semester, although he has other plans and he wants to show her how well they fit together.

It was a light story but touches on family drama issues and racism. and it's 2POV, I enjoy both voices, but Arjun was my favorite. Madhuri can be more headstrong. I also liked the secondary characters, especially Madhuri's sister, compared to Madhuri she embraces her culture, one of the developments of the arc with Madhuri was her cultural identity, she was bullied when she was younger and doesn't want to look like the stereotype of an Indian girl. It's easier to empathize with Arju he is a more down-to-earth character.

Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes, and although it is true that their relationship starts that way, they quickly start dating for real, I would not classify it as fake dating, it's more of friends to lovers.

Overall, I enjoy it, it's a nice debut, I like the cultural representation, Arjun's development, the high school setting, the secondary characters and of course, the beautiful cover.
