I like reading typical romcom tropes through the lens of another culture or country. These characters are likeable, and the whole concept of astrology and match-making from Indian culture goes well with this fake dating trope. It would be fun to see how Anjul and Madhuri make their astrologically fated predictions come true. Senior year provides a good backdrop. I really like how Madhuri's parents are smart, caring, and in love. Not much was said about Anjul's parents in the excerpt, so im hoping we get to know more about him and his family later in the book. Every indication this will be a sweet, youthful romantic comedy that maybe ends with a kiss. Appropriate for middle and high school readers especially if they are interested in learning more about Indian culture in the US. I would definitely read this one. In a store I would have picked it up for sure between the cover and the Ali Hazelwood quote on the cover. She's one on my favs, and I typically like books she endorses.
