Kings of B’More immediately invested me in Linus and Harrison’s relationship. Thomas writes with an ease that lends to the breezy, fun spirit of this preview and preps the reader for the adventure to come. Even in that spirit, the author gives the characters a complexity from the start, including narrative of mental health and self worth that are deeply resonant. As a queer Black reader, it’s refreshing to see a narrative chasing joy and I’m so excited to read this book!
