Thank you very much to Bookish First and the publisher for this win. This was the very first book that I have read by this author. This was a case that showed you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Based on the cover alone, this wasn't a book that I normally would have picked up. However, after reading the synopsis and blurb on the back, I thought this sounded very interesting. Wilbur Smith did not disappoint! This story was chalked full of rich details and vivid characters. I was able to imagine and picture every scene that took place, and I was completely captivated by the story. I had a hard time putting this one down because I wanted to know what was going to happen to the characters. There are more books by this author, and I will definitely be checking them out!
