Based on the cover, this excerpt of King of Kings was not what I expected, but perhaps it connects more with the direction the story goes in after the excerpt. This excerpt did a lot of telling rather not showing, introducing us to the unsavory Penrod, the innocent and very young Amber, and the conniving Agatha. Unfortunately, it did not capture my interest and this book just doesn't seem to be my cup of tea.
