The beginning was a huge info dump, lots of character backstory, probably necessary, but not interesting enough to grab my attention. Penrod seemed like a jerk, so I don't really care if he loses Amber. Actually, I liked her, and maybe she'd be better off without him. It's not really fair that he expected her to act British.
