My first impression of this novel is that the author does an amazing job of depicting the scenery. Cairo is dazzlingly alive and comes to life on the pages. This story of love gone awry will no doubt be full with action and suspense that will keep the reader turning the pages to see if perhaps Penrod and Amber can be together, despite all odds, or if the dangers and distractions lurking on every corner will drag them farther apart. Wilbur Smith knocks it out of the park with this one!
