oh my gosh, I love Stacey Lee's books ever since I read The Downstairs Girl and Under a Painted Sky. So when I saw a new book of hers, I jumped at the chance to read it because I knew it wouldn't let me down. And I was right~ This book was a masterpiece.

The cover was absolutely gorgeous. It already transported me to the 1930s. Plus the mystery of the rip? Chef's kiss.

And the inside? Also beautiful. I loved the twists and turns and the character development. Lulu felt absolutely alive. It's interesting to see how Chinese people were treated in a historical fiction setting. (while I know it is historical FICTION, I still think that the treatment was similar to that of the actual time). So the vivid scenes and characters made the book such an amazing experience.

I would highly recommend reading this and all of Stacey Lee's books. You won't be let down.
