I'm hooked! Stacey Lee paints a vivid picture of 1930s LA seen through an Asian American lens. In just these first 50-ish pages, we get the juxtaposition of a 30s glam cover with a family struggling to stay afloat and the pervasiveness of anti-Chinese sentiment of the time. Looking forward to seeing how Gemma and May get involved in the case when they know it'll probably be low priority for police, despite the victim's level of fame.
