Stacey Lee's latest historical novel for teen readers is one of my most-anticipated books of 2024! This very generous First Look did not disappoint, and I can't wait to read more. I love the very distinct voices of Gemma and May in their alternating chapters. The time period and setting are portrayed in a way that really roots the story in Los Angeles / Chinatown, 1932, with a compelling mix of glamour and hard times, racism and the fetishization of young Asian American women. The murder mystery is just fictional icing on the cake. I cannot wait to read every page of Kill Her Twice!
