This book was amazing! It gives a unique look into the life of a Puerto Rican girl who is struggling to find where she fits in. She is a self proclaimed "baby dyke" and she tries to find allies in her journey of coming out. She moves to Portland for an internship and learns that there is more to just "coming out" but that there are communities and lingo she has never heard of as it pertains to LGBTQ+. I love the honesty and the rawness of Juliet's story. You truly see Juliet's growth from beginning to end. It gives insight to the struggles of not just people of color but people of color who are part of the LGBTQ+ community and the struggles they face. Excellent coming of age story and it is definitely a must read!
