uliet is a Puerto Rican from the Bronx and has just come out to her family. Juliet is getting ready to leave for Portland, OR for an internship with her favorite feminist writer, Harlowe Brisbane. Harlowe is white, and considers herself to be an ally. While Juliet is living with her, she quickly discovers how different life can be, and people aren’t always how they say they are. As a newly come out lesbian, and being so far away from home, Juliet is exposed to a whole new world. Juliet has a lot of learning to do this summer, and self reflection.

Wow, this was such a good book! The more you read the better and better this book gets. This was such a great coming of age story that is perfect for all women. It is about finding yourself, and not who society or your family wants you to be. The writing style made you feel like you were in Juliet’s head. You can tell how she may be feeling, and thinking. I really enjoyed this book. If you haven’t read it yet, I would highly recommend it!
