I went into this book with a LOT of expectations. A teenage lesbian interning for a radical feminist lesbian? YES. The story of Juliet from the Bronx and her journey to understand herself and the world,a thousand miles away from home, kept me intrigued.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were all larger than life and so different. It also talks about a lot of topics which need to be talked about, especially nowadays-white supremacy, importance of trans lives, eradicating Trans Exclusive Radical Feminism, and so on.
However, the book lagged in speed. The second part of the novel was boring and dreary, compared to the vibrancy of the beginning.
All in all, this is one of a kind of an LGBTQ coming of age novel.
