Let's start with Juliet. She is a breath of fresh air -- a funny, vibrant, intelligent Latina. She is real and her voice needs to be heard.

Juliet Takes A Breath is a beautiful, layered novel of intersectional feminism. I loved how it tackled the challenges of third wave feminism interrogating the institution of feminism and queer spaces, especially when both of those tend to privilege white voices. It's a celebration of differences and a rejection of stereotypes. It offers much needed visible spaces for lgbt+ youth and queer women of color. It is filled with strong, outspoken and beautiful queer, women of color.

This book is a much needed mirror text that reflects the experiences of those who are often ignored in literature.
