This book caused me to laugh, cry, and make an homophobic person who asked me what the book was about uncomfortable. It’s an all too relatable and real story that reads more like a biography than fictional book. It’s inspired me to be who I am and get those toxic people out of my life. I genuinely adore this book and would recommend it to any and every young LGBTQIA+ person. Especially those of color. This is the type of book where just reading the synopsis I could find myself and almost cry... I could never have imagined this when I was a couple years younger. I grew up not even knowing a girl liking a girl was possible, now I understand it’s just as normal as any other cishet relationship. If this is a parent reading this before buying it for your kid, please do it. It will help them feel so much more accepted and loved.
