This is a classic coming of age story. Our main character Juliet is embarking on adulthood. She is realizing a dream by getting to intern with her favorite author for the summer. Before she leaves home, she gathers her nerve to come out to her close knit Puerto Rican family. Her mom has nothing to say and Juliet leaves with a crushed heart.
Juliet looks to the guidance of her mentor, who an ultimate authority on all things feminism and sexuality. She has a trans formative summer discovering who she is and learning to be proud of it. Along the way, there is heartbreak, laughter, and many lessons learned.
