As a gay girl that loves reading LGBTQ+ centered stuff, I definitely need this is my life. Honestly, my day hasn’t been great thanks to some homophobic from a family member, but books like this.. it makes me proud of who I am. Straight people have millions of books and movies.. gay people have a very tiny fraction of them. People pretend that’s okay cause there’s more straight people in the world than gay people, but that doesn’t change or invalidate are want- no our need to be represented in things we read and watch. If I could’ve seen more of that when I was younger... well let’s just say it would’ve saved me from a lot of tough times. I didn’t even know that a girl liking girls was an option growing up. I legit thought I obviously must be an alien because while my friends started crushing on and dating guys.. I started crushing on my friends. So yeah.. I need this book, but my parents are homophobic and would never let me buy it. Yikes, coming out is gonna suck... I don’t know this is more of a rant than first impression but I’m a mess of emotions and this is what the book makes me feel.
