Wow. When you laugh, cry and throw out "Yass girl!" on the first page, you know it's going to be a good book. Few opening chapters hit me that hard, but that's it, I'm hooked! I am neither queer nor a person of color and yet I felt this first read in my soul. Gabby Rivera is a talent, and even if I don't win this, I will buy it, because I need to know what happens to Juliet and need to read more of Ms. Rivera's killer prose. Five stars on the first impression!
