Juliet sends a fan letter to a feminist writer (Harlowe) and ends up leaving the Bronx for a summer internship with the writer in Portland, OR. The night she leaves, Juliet decides to tell her family that she's a lesbian.

The writing is awesome- very real. I can picture it onstage at a poetry slam. There is power in the writing. Also, I loved the forward- read the First Impression just to read the forward. It brought tears to my eyes.

I want to read the rest of the book and see how Juliet's summer turns out.
