Wow. One of my favorite things as a reader is being able to pick up a book and live as someone else, see the world in their eyes, the way it has shaped their perspective.
And I will be honest that a lot of the time I read diverse books and feel it has been white washed or watered down to cater to a white audience- and that’s not what I want to read.
This book and the main character took me right to where I want to be to see and experience what women like June experience- this excerpt was amazing I would love to read this entire book.
