I wasn’t sure if the book was for me based on the cover, but thought I’d read the excerpt since I’m trying to read more diversely. By the third sentence I knew I would like this character. The author’s voice feels well established from just the preface and chapter 1 (honest, fresh, funny, powerful) and I’m intrigued by the feminist tone.
