Juliet is from the Bronx. Although, I am not from the same area of the Bronx as Juliet, I can relate to the dudes in the bodega. I went to Catholic school and got some of the same language as their opening lines about my needing to experience them. She uses a line with the dudes that she is gay and not interested. knows that she is a lesbian. I am not a lesbian, I went to an all women's college and met women who are comfortable in their own skin about their sexuality. Juliet wants to come out to her parents before she departs for a trip to Portland, Oregon. I am hoping that when she gets to Portland, she will be able to experience a sense of who she is and the woman that she will become.
