A Judas Horse is a horse that is tamed and sent back to bring back other wild horses into the corral for capture--basically, a horse that turned against the wild nature. As the name infers, somebody on the inside turns against the group and goes back for justice.
I had a difficult time getting into Judas Horse. I didn't initially connect to any of the characters until over a third of the way through, nor did I connect with the crimes that were bring committed until about the same length. The writing style was difficult to follow at times, trying to connect certain experiences that the characters were having to the main theme of the book. I really only committed to reading this because I wanted it off my to be read shelf.
Getting through it, I'm glad I did. I liked the ending and I was able to connect to the characters further through the book. I really enjoyed Jack's wife and mother and hope that there are novels about them in the future.
