I usually enjoy Lynda's books but for some reason, this one just sort of fell flat to me. This is the 2nd book in the Jack Warr series and to be honest, I didn't love the first one either. I decided thought to give the 2nd one a chance to see if it was any better. I liked that this book could be read as a stand alone, so if you haven't read the first one, you can still read this one!

I have always enjoyed Lynda's books, but I feel as if they are getting repetive and almost predictable as she seems to always follow a certain format/story line. I didn't see any real growth with Warr either so while he had a decent back story, I felt like there wasn't much to him.

Also, the story line, like I mentioned before, was very predictable and seem to drag on at points in the novel. There were times when I felt like yelling "Ok enough, we get it". However, the ending of the novel is really good, but I feel like it almost didn't belong.

Thank you to Bookish First for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
