When a group of robberies happen in town detective Jack is called in to see what he can do to stop the gang of criminals. He does this by using a Judas Horse, that is someone on the inside to bring out the rest. With a new family growing at home Jack leaves and confronts the problem head on. He does whatever it takes to stop them before they escalate to more violent crimes.

After the first chapter I didn't want to finish it. It took a lot to read it all but I did and I was not impressed. The writing was poor, it gave too much information, had a flat plot twist and just wasn't enjoyable to read. There was chapters of his new family in the begging that had nothing to do with the rest of the book. Was it cute and sweet? Yes, but not worth that much of the book. It felt like Lynda La Plante could have used that time to build up more mystery in the story and more characters to make you wonder who did it. This felt like it was put on a platter at the start on who was who.
